About the Rankings

The ranking system is performance-based, accounting for game score, offensive and defensive statistics and strength of schedule using the propriety Sayer Matrix formulation.

We recognize that all wins are not created equal, a close win against a top team gains more points than a blowout win against an inferior opponent. Strength of schedule is not based upon the win/loss record of opponents but rather their overall, offensive and defensive rankings. Rankings are optimized through an iterative process, where the outcome of every game impacts the rankings of every NCAAF team.
